Travelling to Slains Cottage, Cruden Bay

There are three roads that you can take to get to the coast of Cruden Bay, one via Newburgh (which is the coast road), or alternatively, the Ellon bypass, which is well signposted for the turn off to Cruden Bay and also from the Peterhead area (which is further north)

Directions to Slains Cottage, Cruden Bay

There are three directions into the Village as follows:-

From the Newburgh road - As soon as you come into the village, take the second turning on your left into Golf Road.  Slains Cottage is the 5th Bungalow on the left hand side - it is clearly marked No. 9 and "Slains" signposted underneath. 

From the Ellon Bypass - Follow the signposts from Ellon to Peterhead, once through the village of Hatton, you will soon come to the signpost for the turn off to Cruden Bay.  Take this road and carry straight on, without taking any turn offs, you will pass through Nethermill Farm and over a small bridge and then up and into the village of Cruden Bay.  Carry straight on, past the Police Station, along Golf Road, and you will come to Bungalows on the right hand side, it is the second bungalow on the right, clearly marked No. 9 and "Slains" signposted underneath. 

From Peterhead road - Once you leave Peterhead, carry on until you pass through Longhaven, thereafter take the next turning on your left, for Cruden Bay.  Follow this road into the village, carry straight through the village, once you pass the St. Olaf Hotel take the next turning on your right, this will take you into Golf Road.  Slains cottage is the 5th bungalow with No. 9 and "Slains" signposted underneath.
